August 12, 2022,  WASHINGTON, DC – The Board of Asian American Action Fund (AAAFund) voted to endorse Jill Tokuda for Hawai’i’s Second Congressional District.

With 12 years of service to Hawai’i Senate District 24, the former state senator would arrive in Washington D.C. ready on Day 1. Senator Tokuda’s long legislative record and extensive experience positions her well for the challenges ahead in Congress. She knows how to put families first, fighting for high-quality, affordable public education and healthcare. When the pandemic hit, Senator Tokuda worked tirelessly to secure relief funding for Hawai’i, critical to the state’s tourism-based economy.

“Jill brings an unparalleled breadth and depth of experience to the table, as a mom, a state senator, and an advocate. She continues to innovate and solve critical problems facing Hawaiians inside and outside of government, whether it is workforce development, pandemic aid, or electing more pro-choice women to local office. No matter the challenge, Jill is ready to fight for all Hawaiians,” said Irene Bueno, AAAFund Endorsements Co-Chair.

“During these dark, uncertain times, we need leaders like Jill with the deep experience and tireless advocacy to take charge and solve problems. Jill will fight to end gun violence, create affordable housing, and improve access to quality health services. No one knows Hawai’i’s second district better than Jill and no one is better equipped to serve them.” said Jeff Roh, AAAFund Board Member and AAAFund-Seattle Chapter Chair.
