The mission of AAA Fund is to promote the health and wellbeing of the entire AAPI community. Included in that mission is a focus upon the access to timely, quality, affordable health care. AAPI communities face cultural and linguistic barriers that may discourage or prevent access to health and mental health care. Asian Americans with limited English proficiency have difficulties in understanding the U.S. healthcare system and communicating with healthcare providers. Many Asian Americans believe that their doctors do not understand their culture and values.
AAA Fund is also committed to eliminating the racial and ethnic inequities that exist within our healthcare system. We strongly support programs such as AAPI-focused health navigators, organizations which help guide the AAPI community through the healthcare system.
