The AAAFund Virginia Chapter, founded by Rose Chu, empowers Virginia’s growing AAPI community to engage in local politics and elect Democratic candidates committed to the community. Focusing on voter registration, education, outreach, AAAFund-Virginia encourages all Asian Americans to take action and participate at all levels of the Democratic Party.
In 2005, the AAA-Fund Virginia Chapter sponsored an Asian American fundraiser for Governor Tim Kaine and spearheaded outreach to the AAPI community for the gubernatorial campaign and down the ballot. The Virginia Chapter was one of the first to sponsored ads in Asian language newspapers and radio for these three at-large candidates and Democratic candidates for state delegate.
In 2006, the AAA-Fund Virginia Chapter participated in phone banking, literature drops and visibility events at Asian grocery stores. The AAA-Fund sponsored a full-page campaign ad for Jim Webb in a Korean Daily newspaper. The Virginia Chapter also helped arrange other campaign ads and newspaper articles.
From 2007 to the present, the AAA-Fund Virginia Chapter has been sponsoring happy hours in Arlington and planning voter registration and visibility events. For more information, contact Rose Chu at rccmason AT gmail.com or call 703 998-5539h.
