Andrew Janz

The Asian American Action Fund proudly endorses Andrew Janz for Congress. Andrew is running to represent California’s 22nd District in Central Valley.

Andrew Janz is a deputy district attorney in Fresno County and has dedicated his entire life to upholding the Constitution and protecting the Central Valley. He has prosecuted a number of high-profile cases, including those against gang members, career criminals, and alleged murderers. He has risen quickly through the ranks of the District Attorney’s office and his most recent assignment was to the Violent Crimes Unit.

Raised by immigrant parents in Visalia, he has lived and understands the American dream. Andrew’s father worked in local food processing plants and his mother worked in a local hospital. Andrew became a public servant because of his late father’s influence. Andrew’s father was a Peace Corps volunteer in the late 1970s and early 1980s and stationed to Southeast Asia.

Andrew attended California State University, Stanislaus where he was awarded a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in public administration. Andrew first got involved in civic engagement while attending CSU Stanislaus as a student leader on campus where he worked on a number of issues to improve the quality of student life. Specifically, Andrew focused on reducing the cost of higher education, expanding recreational programs, and promoting alcohol safety and education. He also helped coordinate a statewide voter registration campaign with the California State Student Association where nearly 20,000 new students were registered to vote.

After leaving CSU Stanislaus, Andrew attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles where he earned his law degree. While there, he was selected to be a member of the Law Review and elected by his peers to be president of the Student Bar Association. After law school, Andrew clerked for District Court Judge Carolyn Ellsworth in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he continued his legal education in the real world. Ultimately, he wanted to go back home to the Valley and serve his community as a local prosecutor.

Andrew is running for Congress to continue to serve his community. He will fight for clean drinking water for residents and secure water elivery systems for our farmers who feed our nation. Andrew will be a champion for Central Valley small businesses and help bring good paying jobs to our region.
