About Us

The Asian American Action Fund is a political action committee that seeks to increase the Democratically-aligned Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community’s voice in politics at every level of government across the United States.

Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders from across the ethnic spectrum and the country collaborate through the Asian American Action Fund to build our community’s capacity to self-organize, advocate, and run for local, state, and federal office. We help elect political candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to the community and by engaging AAPIs in the political process.

Since our founding in 1999, we have endorsed hundreds of candidates from every AAPI ethnic community, in every region of the country, and at every level of government.

Together, we are building a national network of AAAFund State Chapters, leaders, activists, and candidates who represent the power of the AAPI community.

Mission

VISION

We seek to build a world in which Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders champion their own voices and achieve equitable representation throughout our political system.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Asian American Action Fund works through a holistic approach of expanding the Democratically-aligned AANHPI voter base while helping the Democratic Party understand our political community. We recognize the need to build up local AANHPI support for Democrats, mature and finance the pipeline of AANHPI candidates, political operatives, and organizers, and elect Democratically-aligned AANHPIs and allies to federal office.

Federal Elections

Our bread and butter is in supporting the election of Democratically-aligned candidates of AANHPI descent or who represent districts with a significant AANHPI population. We seek to increase the voice of the AANHPI community at the federal level through Congress and political appointments.

Local Impact

The AAAFund State Chapter model is designed to support local grassroots fundraising and organizing by empowering local, emerging AANHPI leaders to build the Democratic presence in their own communities.

AAPI Clearinghouse

We host a network of AANHPI thought leaders called the AANHPI Clearinghouse, which offers a space for national, regional/local organizers and operatives to share tactics, trends, data and insights into our communities. This community supports professional development for AANHPIs and boosts AANHPIs’ capacity to organize our own community, command our own voice, and advocate for our issues.

People & Chapters

BOARD MEMBERS & OFFICERS

AAAFund’s board includes professionals of all backgrounds, dedicated to increasing the political power of the AANHPI community. Many are highly experienced political operatives, as well as local activists, campaign professionals, and consultants. Our board drives our fundraising efforts and our political strategy.

CHAPTERS & PARTNERS

We extend our impact to the local level through AAAFund chapters around the country. Our chapters are our local ears on the ground and the frontline of our capacity-building and political engagement work.

Through our chapters, we identify and support candidates for local, state and federal office, raise money for endorsees, and engage local communities in canvassing, phone banking, and outreach via ethnic, social, and mainstream media.

AANHPI Clearinghouse

The AANHPI Clearinghouse is an informal network of AANHPI and allied political operatives, campaign professionals, consultants, and activists. We share our experiences, lessons learned, and insights into the AANHPI community. Sometimes candidates or campaign staff drop by to speak. The goal is to provide a space for AANHPI politicos to gather and find collaborators.

Support Our Work

Since 1999, we have been the leading voice supporting AANHPI and allied candidates at the federal level.

Your gift powers our mission to build power in the AANHPI community:

  • We cultivate the pipeline of AANHPI elected officials.

  • We strengthen relationships with members of Congress to raise our community’s issues and voices.

  • We convene a national network of AANHPI political operatives, campaign professionals, and grassroots leaders.
