Asian American Action Fund Statement On U.S. Congressman Lance Gooden’s Racist Remarks

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC — In response to U.S. Congressman Lance Gooden’s (TX-05) racist remarks questioning U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu’s (CA-28) loyalty to the United States, Ally Mark, executive director of the Asian American Action Fund (AAAFund) released the following statement.

“Congressman Lance Gooden’s xenophobic, sexist remarks are as appalling as they are predictable. It’s clear that the Republican Party has thrown out the dog whistle in exchange for the megaphone. Throughout her years of public service, Congresswoman Judy Chu has shown us what it means to be a true American. Her loyalty to the United States and to serving the interests of her district are unquestionable.”
